Obama - First 100 days laundry list (take 2)

November 11th, 2008 · No Comments · Obama Transitiion, Politics

Here is an updated version of my 100 days plan for Obama. I am trying to drill it down to a feasible amount of items that can be accomplished:

  1. Close Guantanamo bay.  Try Prisoners either in the USA under a new court system or better yet try them in some U.N. sponsored international court
  2. Call on joint chiefs to start the withdraw of troops from Iraq.  Should be 1-2 brigades per month and can finish up in 16 months or less.
  3. Move more troops into afghanistan and finish the job.  Meet with leaders of Pakistan, Syria, etc to draw a line that says if you are not allowing us to catch Bin Laden we will need to sanction you etc.
  4. Address the U.N. and ask for support on the international war against terror.  Ask for diplomatic talks with Oil producing neighbors and an international force in Afghanistan.
  5. Review all Bush Executive orders and cancel those unconstitutional
  6. Send secretary of state around the world for a healing of the American spirit with the world
  7. Cancel any trade agreements that are not in our workers best interests and the best interest for labor standards.
  8. Submit bill to fund manhattan project environmental and green economy revolution
  9. Submit budget that lets Bush tax cuts expire on rich, further cut taxes for the middle class, increases funding for science, education, states, environment etc.  Cut funding for the Department of Defense, close tax loopholes corporations and the rich.
  10. Submit Manhattan project health care reform bill
  11. Pass economic stimulus plan that helps the unemployed, manages the bailout better, provides rebate checks, invests in the infrastructure, and helps stem foreclosures.
  12. Allow full funding for stem cell research
  13. Reverse the Bush EPA decision and allow California to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from cars and trucks. Call for a new climate treaty and ask Al Gore to lead that effort.
